Filing Acrylic Nails for Flawless Results
Post-Trim and Debulking File Technique
After trimming and debulking your acrylic nails, filing is the next crucial step to achieve their perfect shape and length. Follow these steps for a professional-looking finish:
1. Coarse Grit Filing
Using a coarse file with a 100 or 180 grit, gently file away excess acrylic. Aim to remove approximately 80% of the product to create a smooth base.
2. Reshaping
Once the excess acrylic is filed, you can reshape your nails to your desired design. Use a finer grit file for more precise shaping.
Note: It's possible to reshape acrylic nails at home after a salon visit. If you're not satisfied with the shape or length, follow these steps to achieve your preferred look.
